Game Speed & Time
GAME SPEED & TIME
Conflict of Nations is built around persistent real-time campaigns. Armies continue moving, economies keep producing and the campaign clock continues whether a commander is online or away.
The Campaign Never Pauses
A Conflict of Nations round is a persistent online campaign. Orders remain active after you leave, making time management part of strategy rather than simply a visual clock.
Always Running
Campaigns continue while players are offline. Unit orders, production and other scheduled processes are not dependent on a commander remaining logged in.
Hours To Days
Troop movements across large distances can require hours and major campaigns can continue for days or weeks, making forward planning essential.
Orders Matter
Movement, arrival times, build queues and research schedules create a timeline that continues even while attention is focused elsewhere.
Campaign Days
The interface tracks the current in-game day, while campaign systems such as research availability and news are organized around the progression of that game clock.
Normal & Accelerated Games
Conflict of Nations includes standard-length campaigns and also runs accelerated 4x-speed campaigns. The rules remain strategic, but the pace at which decisions become urgent changes dramatically.
Normal Campaign Pace
The standard real-time format gives larger planning windows between major developments and is suited to long-running strategic games.
Accelerated Campaign Pace
4x games compress the campaign pace. Movements, development and reactions occur in a much tighter real-world window, demanding more frequent attention.
What The Clock Controls
Plan Before You Log Out
Logging out does not freeze your nation. Long troop movements, undefended cities, unfinished production chains and exposed borders remain part of the live campaign. Orders should therefore be planned around what may happen before you return.
