Diplomatic Status
DIPLOMATIC STATUS
Diplomatic status determines how two nations interact. A relationship can remain symbolic, grant physical access through territory, expand intelligence sharing or move into open war.
From Peace To Open Conflict
Peace
Peace represents a non-hostile diplomatic relationship. The official documentation describes it primarily as a diplomatic gesture rather than a status that grants additional mechanics.
Right Of Way
Right of Way allows units to move through another player’s territory and supports operations such as air lifts and airport refuelling.
Shared Intelligence
Shared Intelligence gives both sides access to intelligence reports gathered through the Intel system.
War
War establishes open hostilities and allows military operations against the opposing nation and its territory.
Access Creates Strategic Possibilities
Cross Territory
Friendly access allows forces to move through the partner’s controlled provinces.
Use Airports
Right of Way supports air lifts and refuelling through eligible partner airports.
Forward Deployment
Access can create shorter routes and new staging possibilities across the map.
Granting access places another player’s forces inside your territory. If that relationship later changes to war, infantry already positioned there can become an immediate territorial threat.
Relations Can Be Negotiated Directly
Diplomacy Panel
The Diplomacy Panel is used to manage relations with other nations and change your diplomatic stance.
- Select Nation // choose the country involved.
- Set Relation // adjust your diplomatic stance.
- Monitor // track the wider diplomatic situation.
Messages & Trades
Diplomatic negotiations can also be sent directly to other players. Offers can propose one diplomatic relationship in exchange for the same or another relationship.
- Offer // propose a diplomatic relation.
- Respond // the receiving player can accept or decline.
- Communicate // messages allow negotiations beyond the status itself.
War Can Be Declared Or Triggered By Invasion
Formal Declaration
A commander can explicitly change diplomatic status to War through the diplomacy interface.
Territorial Trespass
Moving into another nation’s province without the diplomatic access required to do so can constitute an act of war. The game provides a warning when an order would trigger that result.
