Military Doctrines
MILITARY DOCTRINES
Every playable nation belongs to a military doctrine. Doctrine shapes research availability, unit presentation and the technological paths that become attractive at different stages of a campaign.
Three Paths To Military Development
The doctrines are not separate game modes. They are national military frameworks that affect research timing and the way different parts of the military develop.
Western
Western doctrine has its own research progression and visually distinct military equipment.
- Early Research // Armored Combat Vehicle
- Early Research // Theatre Defense System
- Early Research // Attack Helicopter
- Early Research // AWACS
Eastern
Eastern doctrine follows a different research timetable and emphasizes a different group of technologies earlier in the game.
- Early Research // Main Battle Tank
- Early Research // SAM Launcher
- Early Research // Gunship Helicopter
European
European doctrine uses its own unit models and research advantages, creating another route through military development.
- Early Research // Mechanized Infantry
- Early Research // Tank Destroyer
- Early Research // Strike Fighter
Doctrine Changes The Development Timeline
Doctrine Assigned
Your chosen country begins with one of the three military doctrines.
Timing Changes
Certain technologies become available earlier or later depending on doctrine.
Different Equipment
Doctrine unit models are visually distinct and follow their own research progression.
Adapt The Build
Research priorities can be built around the advantages available to that doctrine.
Doctrine Is A Framework, Not A Script
The doctrine system gives each nation different strengths and weaknesses, but it does not remove player choice. Research, economy, geography, opposition and coalition requirements still determine which military path makes sense inside an individual campaign.
