Destroyer

The Destroyer is a heavily armed multi-role fleet escort built to contest surface ships and submarines while screening the fleet with radar, sonar and defensive fire. It can reveal stealth submarines, deploy sea mines, launch cruise missiles at higher levels and cannot enter rivers. Its real strength is the combination of surface damage, anti-submarine power, detection, range, survivability and deployable weaponry.

● SURFACE + ASW + SENSOR PLATFORM
Surface & Submarines
Destroyers hit both naval target classes hard. Doctrine decides whether the late-game edge leans toward surface damage, submarine damage or defensive air/hard-target performance.
Radar, Sonar & Stealth
Radar and sonar are separate detection fields. The Destroyer also carries Reveal Stealth specifically for submarines, making it a natural anti-submarine sensor escort.
Deployable Weaponry
Sea mines scale in capacity and preparation speed, while higher levels gain cruise-missile capability. These mechanics are separate from the normal ATK/DEF vector.

Doctrine Choice Actually Matters Here

Unlike units where the visible progression is nearly identical, the Destroyer shows clear doctrine-specific combat differences. Western is the strongest verified surface hitter and carries the most HP, European has the strongest verified anti-submarine damage, and Eastern receives the strongest aircraft-damage doctrine bonus plus reduced mobilization cost. The calculator must therefore keep doctrine as part of every level lookup.

● RADAR ≠ SONAR ≠ ATTACK RANGE
Radar
Surface/air detection field. Verified at 75 through the middle progression and 100 at L6.
Sonar
Underwater detection field. Store it separately from radar even where the numerical values happen to match.
Reveal Stealth
The eye property is specifically used here to reveal stealth submarines within its applicable detection area. It is not a generic damage bonus.

Upgrade Breakpoints

L1 → L2 // Mobility
Deep-water speed rises 4 → 4.5 and shallow-water speed 2 → 2.25. Mine capacity also grows from 1 to 2 while the core combat profile improves.
L3 → L4 // 75 Range + Cruise Missile
The Destroyer moves from 50 to 75 engagement range. Mine capacity reaches 4 with an 8-hour preparation time, and the supplied Western popup confirms cruise-missile capacity 1 with a 12-hour reload.
L4 → L5 // Heavy Naval Damage
Surface and submarine damage rise sharply across doctrines. Mines reach capacity 5, and the supplied Western data shows cruise-missile capacity increasing to 2.
L6 // Full Sensor & Range Package
Attack range, radar and sonar reach 100. Western reaches 14 surface / 20 submarine ATK, European reaches 12 / 22, and Eastern reaches 12 / 20 while maintaining its doctrine-specific defensive profile.
// Final Player Verdict //
● THE MULTI-ROLE NAVAL WORKHORSE
Use It For
Hunting submarines, fighting surface fleets, screening valuable naval stacks and adding radar/sonar coverage while bringing mines and later cruise missiles.
Doctrine Choice
Western favors surface damage and HP. European pushes anti-submarine damage hardest. Eastern brings the aircraft-damage doctrine bonus and lower mobilization cost.
Best Breakpoints
L2 for mobility, L4 for 75 range and the confirmed cruise-missile unlock, and L6 for the complete 100-range / 100-radar / 100-sonar package.
